District administration has identified 863 buildings that have cracks due to Joshimath

Chamoli District Magistrate (DM) Himanshu Khurana on Saturday inspected the marked land in Dhak village of Joshimath in Chamoli district affected by landslide. The DM directed the Rural Works Department (RWD) to provide the outline map of the land in Dhaka soon. Along with this, the administration told that so far 863 buildings have been identified in the Joshimath city area, in which cracks have appeared. According to the DM, 181 of these buildings have been kept in unsafe zones.

Chamoli District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana said that after the recent heavy snowfall in Uttarakhand, there have been reports of widening cracks in buildings in some areas. Khurana said that State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and police teams are on alert in case of any accident due to heavy snowfall in Joshimath.

What is the condition of relief camps?

Regarding the condition of relief camps in Joshimath, he said that teams are working to provide all necessary facilities to the affected families. DM Himanshu Khurana said, “There have been reports of widening cracks in buildings in some areas due to heavy snowfall in JoshimathOur team is working to provide heaters, hot water and all other necessary facilities.”

Assistance being given to the affected

He said that an executive level engineer is present in the relief camps to monitor the power problem in the relief camps. Earlier, Disaster Management Secretary Ranjit Kumar Sinha informed the media on January 20 about the rehabilitation and relief works being done in Joshimath and informed that an amount of Rs 4 lakh has been allocated as immediate assistance to the eight affected farmers. 50 thousand rupees per family.

218 affected people got an amount of 3.27 crores

Meanwhile, an amount of more than Rs 3.27 crore has been distributed as advance relief to 218 affected families in Joshimath. Along with Joshimath, similar incidents of landslides are also being reported from other areas of Uttarakhand including Uttarkashi, Tehri, Pauri and Karnprayag.
