Health certificates from govt doctors must for going on yatra: Uttarakhand

Viral Video Unbelievable sight close to Kedarnath temple; No damage reported

The health minister of Uttarakhand Dhan Singh Rawat on Monday informed that the health department is now going to make health certificates mandatory.

This is mandatory for yatra to the high-altitude shrines of Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib. Notably kedarnath is located 11,000 ft above sea level while Hemkund Sahib which is nestled at 13,600 ft from the sea level.

There are many pilgrimage sites in India which are situated on inaccessible hills. Lakhs of devotees visit these pilgrimage sites every year. These pilgrims include old people as well as youth and children. Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand has started. Those going on the Char Dham Yatra located in Uttarakhand have to climb a high hill to visit the temple. The road there is rocky and bumpy as well as being at a very high altitude. By the way, helicopter facility is also available for the journey. But most of the passengers travel on foot. It becomes difficult to climb the hill for several kilometers on foot.

So Chardham Yatra can be difficult for heart patients. Last year, several pilgrims had died due to heart attack while walking for the Chardham Yatra. The question is, because of which reason travelers can suffer a heart attack during the Char Dham Yatra?

Most of the pilgrims died due to heart attack. This is also important because we need to understand that there are two problems during the Char Dham Yatra. Firstly, the height is more. Most people are not used to climbing. Along with this, due to high altitude, there is also a lack of oxygen. These are both the factors, due to which stress comes on the heart and there is a possibility of heart attack.
