Lok Sabha Election 2024: In a fervent display of electoral campaigning, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami actively participated in events supporting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the state. Dhami commenced his campaign by reaching Pauri to support BJP candidate Anil Baluni from the Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha constituency. He is scheduled to address a public meeting to bolster support for Baluni’s candidacy.

Continuing his campaign momentum, Chief Minister Dhami took part in a roadshow in Dehradun ahead of the nomination of Tehri Lok Sabha candidate Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah. Thousands of enthusiastic supporters thronged the streets to welcome Dhami, showering flowers and chanting slogans in his honor. In reciprocation, Dhami expressed gratitude by showering flowers on the crowd and waving back at them.

BJP candidate Anil Baluni commenced the nomination process in Pauri district

Simultaneously, BJP candidate Anil Baluni commenced the nomination process in Pauri district headquarters, accompanied by Union Minister Smriti Irani. Following the nomination, Baluni is slated to address a public gathering to garner further support.

In a parallel development, Congress candidate Jot Singh Gunsola filed his nomination papers for the Tehri Lok Sabha seat, marking the party’s electoral engagement in the state.

The parliamentary elections for all five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand are scheduled to be held in a single phase on April 19. In the previous 2019 general elections, BJP secured victory in all five seats, registering a dominant vote share of 61.7 percent. The Congress party secured 31.7 percent of the votes, while the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) received 4.5 percent.
