It has been clearly stated in the order that no one will be allowed to travel without registration. A letter has been sent by the Uttarakhand government to the chief secretaries of all the states in this regard. State Chief Secretary SS Sandhu said that this time more pilgrims are expected to reach Chardham Yatra than last time, so many new arrangements have been made. He further said that all the pilgrims coming this time will have to compulsorily register and a letter has been sent to the Chief Secretaries of all the states in this regard. Uttarakhand government is also planning to spread information about this in every state through advertisements in all India newspapers of all languages. Sandhu said, “The tourism department will advertise in newspapers in the language of every state so that people can get information about what rules have been made for travel this time. The government has made this arrangement so that the crowd does not gather in the Char Dhams, stampede-like situation does not arise and the pilgrims can have a good darshan.

This time, due to the incidents of land subsidence in Joshimath, Uttarakhand, the journey of Char Dham has taken a different form this time, which is also considered as the last stop to reach the holy Badrinath Dham. Some tough decisions have been taken in the review meeting held on Tuesday, 21 February. All department officials have been ordered to be alert and complete pre-travel preparations in advance. For the smooth conduct of Badrinath Yatra, a team of Border Road Organization will regularly stay in Joshimath.

Underlining the importance of the issue of security of pilgrims, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “The Char Dham of Uttarakhand are major centers of religious faith for the pilgrims. It is the responsibility of all of us to ensure that the journey of all the pilgrims is safe and smooth.”
