Officials have indicated that a detailed survey for the project is expected to begin soon. The survey will assess route alignment, infrastructure requirements, feasibility, and potential stations along the corridor before further steps are taken toward implementation.

The Namo Bharat network is designed to provide high-speed regional transit services connecting major urban centers with surrounding cities. If completed, the Delhi–Rishikesh corridor could enhance regional mobility, reduce road congestion, and offer a faster alternative to existing modes of transportation.

The project is also expected to boost tourism and economic activity in Uttarakhand by improving access to key religious and tourist destinations, including Rishikesh and Haridwar. Better connectivity could support local businesses, hospitality services, and employment opportunities in the region.

The approval marks an important step toward expanding modern transport infrastructure in northern India, with authorities expressing optimism that the corridor will strengthen connectivity between Delhi and Uttarakhand while improving travel convenience for millions of passengers.
