Sakhi Didi: 15-day campaign to strengthen beat policing by women in UP

Sakhi Didi: On Monday, the director general of police began Sakhi Didi, a 15-day countrywide campaign to support the woman constable beat system.

The Sakhi Didi constables would visit as many beats and villages as possible to hear the complaints of women and other complainants.

They will also promote awareness of the state government’s many social and security programmes.

“All efforts shall be made to ensure satisfactory resolution of women-related complaints within the next 15-days,” said DGP Vijay Kumar, in a tweet from the official twitter handle of the DGP.

“The campaign will be monitored on a daily basis by senior officers at the district level and at the police headquarters,” added the DGP.

This is a component of the third phase of the Yogi Adityanath administration’s Mission Shakti campaign.

To address concerns affecting women in rural regions, female constables will speak with ANMs, Asha Bahus, and Shiksha Mitras and stay in touch with them via WhatsApp.
