Uttarakhand News: The Uttarakhand government has announced free helicopter services in the Rudraprayag district of the state to help transport pregnant women for immediate medical assistance. Under the initiative, a pregnant woman was transported to the district hospital from Jakholi.

According to officials, the service is completely free for pregnant women who are living in inaccessible and remote areas of the state. Nandan Singh Rajwar, the District Disaster Management Officer, commented that the service would be immensely beneficial for residents of areas in the state where road connectivity is challenged or in circumstances where offering prompt medical assistance during acute emergencies could be challenging.
Rajwar remarked that the initiative would help in reducing infant and maternal mortality rates while ensuring safe motherhood.
