Uttarakhand News: In a meeting held at the camp office, Garhwal Commissioner, along with Kumaon Commissioner who joined virtually, reviewed the situation in various parts of the state affected by heavy rainfall.
Officials have been directed to keep district and tehsil administrations on 24/7 alert for relief and rescue operations in case of a disaster. Proper arrangements for accommodation and food for disaster-affected individuals in waterlogged areas should be ensured.

Continuous communication with control rooms established at the tehsil level must be maintained, and immediate measures should be taken to reopen any roads that have been closed. Based on warnings from the Meteorological Department and local weather activities, officials have been instructed to decide on the opening and closing of schools.
The Commissioners emphasized the importance of proactive measures and timely responses to mitigate the impact of the heavy rains. They instructed all departments to coordinate closely and ensure that resources are mobilized efficiently to address any emergencies.
Furthermore, they stressed the need for public awareness campaigns to inform residents about safety protocols during heavy rainfall and potential floods. The officials were also tasked with monitoring vulnerable areas and ensuring that all necessary precautions are in place to protect lives and property.
