Uttarakhand News: Infrastructure Development for the Next 50 Years, Says Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami

Dhami announced the elevation of the upper secondary school in Damkeshwar to an inter-college and the construction of chambers for lawyers in Jaspur.

Uttarakhand News: During an event organized by the Agriculture Produce Mandi Committee, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and dedicated seven development projects worth 28.20 crore rupees. Among these projects were the construction of new municipal headquarters buildings in Jaspur Roop, the establishment of Banakhndi Temple in the Khateema area under the legislative constituency of Khatima, the renovation of the Hidimba Devi Temple in Haldwasaahu village of Jaspur, and the reconstruction and improvement of damaged stretches of NH 74 (old) from Km 131 to Km 1 linking Jaspur to Dhamapur. Additionally, Dhami announced the elevation of the upper secondary school in Damkeshwar to an inter-college and the construction of chambers for lawyers in Jaspur.

Focus on Agricultural Prosperity and Welfare

Dhami emphasized the government’s commitment to the economic prosperity of farmers by increasing the sugarcane rates by 20 rupees per quintal. He also highlighted the upgrade of boilers in the sugar mill, aimed at benefiting sugarcane farmers. Furthermore, he announced the exemption of taxes on canal water for irrigation purposes, providing relief to farmers.

Empowering Women and Ensuring Social Welfare

The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s dedication to women’s empowerment through various schemes such as the Women Empowerment Scheme, Lakhpati Didi Scheme, and Chief Minister’s Anchal Amrit Yojana. Additionally, he announced enhancements in pension schemes for senior citizens and expanded access to pensions for both husbands and wives.

Infrastructure Strengthening and Collaborative Efforts

Dhami highlighted the ongoing development projects across the state, including schools, colleges, roads, hospitals, water projects, and electricity initiatives. He also emphasized the collaborative efforts with the central government, particularly in infrastructure development.

Addressing Unemployment and Promoting Education

The Chief Minister addressed unemployment concerns by indicating the reduction in the unemployment rate from 8.4% to 4.9% between 2021-22 and 2022-23. He also announced initiatives to enhance education facilities, including the elevation of schools to colleges and the establishment of chambers for lawyers.

Acknowledgment of Public Support

Dhami expressed gratitude towards the public for their support and participation in various government initiatives. He acknowledged the importance of public feedback and collaboration in achieving developmental goals.
