Uttarakhand News: Uttarakhand Budget Allocated ₹13,780 Crores for Road Infrastructure Development

During the budget speech, Finance Minister Premchand Aggarwal emphasized the government's commitment to structural development in the state.

Uttarakhand News: In a significant move, the Uttarakhand government has earmarked a budget of ₹13,780 crores for the improvement and development of roads and infrastructure in the state. The allocation aims not only to facilitate the construction of new roads, bridges, and tunnel projects but also focuses on enhancing connectivity through the widening and strengthening of existing roads.

Focus on Structural Development:

During the budget speech, Finance Minister Premchand Aggarwal emphasized the government’s commitment to structural development in the state. The initiative includes the construction of new road projects and the expansion of old roads to double lanes, promising an overall improvement in connectivity.

Key Allocations for Road Projects:

The budgetary provisions include ₹300 crores for doubling the lanes of the road from Pauri to Srinagar, ₹250 crores for the construction of a bypass tunnel in Rudraprayag, and ₹553 crores for upgrading the highway from Paunta Sahib to Dehradun. Additionally, ₹100 crores have been sanctioned for the construction of a four-lane bypass in Rudrapur.

Boosting Connectivity:

The Bhaniyawala-Jauligrant to Rishikesh highway is set to receive ₹742 crores for its development, while the Kashipur bypass project has been allocated ₹692 crores. Furthermore, a provision of ₹274 crores has been made for the widening of the two-lane road from Lameeri in Rudraprayag to Karnaprayag in Chamoli district.

These initiatives underscore the government’s strategic focus on enhancing the state’s road infrastructure for sustainable development and improved connectivity.
