Uttarkashi Tunnel Collapse: PMO’s Strategic Move! Armed Forces to Deploy Heavy Drilling Equipment for Swift Rescue Operations

Uttarkashi Tunnel Collapse

Uttarkashi Tunnel Collapse: The disaster occurred early on Sunday in the tunnel being built between Silkyara and Dandalgaon on the Yamunotri National Highway, trapping about forty labourers. Technical experts indicate that although a rescue operation is underway to save the workers, they should be removed safely on Wednesday.

Machine Transferred to Silkyara

PMO’s major decision came after careful observation of the Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue and the Indian Army‘s assistance in freeing those trapped workers inside the tunnel. Heavy army equipment will now drill in the event that a drilling machine fails at night. By midday, the machine will arrive at the Chinyalisaur airstrip aboard an Army cargo Hercules. The machine will then be delivered to Silkyara. Companies at the international level have consulted on the operation.

Continuous Communication with Union Home Ministry

According to Dr. Sinha, Secretary of Disaster Management, there is ongoing communication with the Union Home Ministry. Information regarding any developments and actions is also shared with the Centre. Officials from Home Ministry are keeping a close eye on the whole thing.
