Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while addressing an election rally in Milkipur, Ayodhya, on Sunday, strongly condemned the murder of a Dalit girl and accused the Samajwadi Party (SP) of being involved. This was his first statement on the incident, and he appeared visibly angry. He alleged, "The culprit behind the murder is surely from the SP. Their MPs are doing mere drama over the incident. These people will never change because a dog's tail can never be straightened."
SP Leaders Accused of Protecting Criminals
CM Yogi further attacked SP, stating that they favor criminals over the safety of daughters. He said, "SP is in love with gangsters and criminals. They protect people like Milkipur’s Moeid Khan and Kannauj’s Nawab Yadav, who dare to assault daughters openly."
He accused SP of being anti-Sanatan Dharma and siding with anti-national forces and the mafia. Criticizing SP’s governance model, he said, "For them, vacant land belongs to them. While they shed the blood of Karsevaks in Ayodhya, we initiated the grand Deepotsav celebration."
Yogi emphasized that the Milkipur by-election, scheduled for February 5, has now turned into a battle of “Rashtra vs. Parivarvad”. The election results will be declared on February 8. This marks Yogi’s second visit to Milkipur in 10 days and his sixth visit in six months.
SP MP Breaks Down in Press Conference
Meanwhile, SP MP Awadhesh Prasad held a press conference at 10 AM, where he broke down in tears while addressing the media. He vowed to raise the issue in Lok Sabha before PM Modi and threatened to resign if justice was not served.
Crying inconsolably, he said, "We have failed to protect our daughters. What will history say? How could this happen to our daughter? Oh Lord Ram… where are you? Where is Maa Sita?" He ended his address by saying, "If justice is not served, I will resign."
