Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir to have 3,600 statues based on Hindu Shastras

On Thursday, the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust posted images of figures being carved onto stones for the Lord Ram temple that is now being built in Ayodhya.

3,600 figurines based on Hindu Shastras will be installed in the temple, in addition to the idol of Lord Ram Lalla, which is expected to be placed in its original location by the end of next year.

“Beautiful Statues are being carved on stone, based on stories from our Shastras. They will be later pasted on pillars, base and other designated places in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, as per the construction schedule,” wrote the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust on Twitter and shared photos of the statues.

The Ram temple’s construction has reached a completion rate of more than 50%.

The sanctum sanctorum of Lord Ram will be completed by December 2023, according to reliable sources in the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, who predict that the Ram temple will be partly complete by late 2023. After Makar Sankranti in January 2024, the devotees’ access to the sanctum sanctorum will be granted.

The supporting structure constructed in the sanctum sanctorum will hold the 51-inch-tall idol of Ramlala.

According to sources within the temple trust, the 67 acre land the trust originally purchased has been increased to 110 acres to accommodate the Ram temple complex. The purpose of doing this was to include different religious and vaastu components.
