CM Yogi Adityanath: In a bold and assertive political remark, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday blamed the Congress Party for the unrest and strife that has lasted for decades in Jammu and Kashmir by claiming that its policies have consistently compromised the integrity and sovereignty of India. While addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi stated, “The genesis of the Kashmir problem is the Congress regime. Their politics of compromise resulted in decades of strife and separation. What has transpired today is the result of strong leadership from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.”
Yogi Adityanath expressed admiration for the Modi-Shah duo in bringing peace, development, and security to Kashmir following the repeal of Article 370, certainly in August 2019. He mentioned that this bold step brought Jammu and Kashmir closer to the fold of broader India, which generated economic growth and social cohesion.
“For years, the region was in turmoil, and Congress governments were just continuing to let it fester and reap political benefits from it. Today, the Modi government has given Kashmir a different identity, one of progress and patriotism,” Yogi proclaimed to thunderous applause.
Emphasising Change and Development
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister further pointed out how, under the current government programs, Kashmir has enjoyed great increases in tourism and investment, resulting in a major decrease in terror during that time. He said the people of Kashmir enjoy the opportunities and peace that were not available to them for decades.
Yogi noted, “Today, from Srinagar to Kanyakumari, the nation is united. That is the power of a government in decisive action — something Congress could never accomplish.”
He also commended PM Modi for extending development programs to all parts of the nation and more localised border states that were ignored in the past.
Congress Political Reactions Follow
Yogi’s comments drew swift reactions from Congress leaders across the country, condemning him for misrepresenting history and politicising a sensitive national issue. While Congress leaders pushed back against Yogi’s claims, BJP supporters and other senior leaders defended Yogi, stating but instead labeled his comments as “fact-based truth about Congress’s failures.”
