Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday said that Ballia’s traditional sattu products are gaining a new identity under the ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) initiative, with preparations now underway to introduce sattu-based laddoos in international markets.
According to the state government, the ODOP scheme has helped local producers and entrepreneurs from Ballia expand the reach of their products through branding, packaging and e-commerce platforms.
Officials stated that Ballia’s chana-based sattu products have witnessed growing demand online, helping traditional food items gain wider recognition beyond local markets.
CM Yogi Adityanath: Focus on exports and branding
The Uttar Pradesh government said preparations have been completed to promote sattu laddoos in global markets as part of efforts to strengthen exports of regional products.
Authorities believe the move will help create better opportunities for small entrepreneurs, self-help groups and local food businesses associated with the production of sattu and related products.
ODOP boosting local entrepreneurship
The government said the ODOP scheme is playing a major role in promoting district-specific traditional products and supporting local employment generation.
Officials added that the initiative has helped many artisans and food producers connect with digital marketplaces and modern supply chains, giving traditional products from Uttar Pradesh a stronger commercial identity at national and international levels.
