Highlighting the initiatives of the BJP-led government
The Chief Minister also referred to Uttar Pradesh’s political situation before 2017, alleging that the politics of appeasement, casteism and dynasticism had divided society and weakened the spirit of national integration.
Highlighting the initiatives of the BJP-led government, Yogi said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double-engine government had worked to change this situation. He stated that the principles of ‘Nation First’ and ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ had been made the foundation of governance.
According to Yogi, these principles have been used to strengthen social harmony and connect Sardar Patel’s legacy with the vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’. He emphasised that national unity and social cohesion should remain central to the country’s development.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the significance of the annual Run for Unity organised to mark Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary. He described the event as an opportunity to take the message of national integration and collective responsibility to people across the country.
Urging citizens to participate in the unity run, Yogi said that every step taken during the event should symbolise dedication towards protecting India’s unity and integrity.
He further reiterated the message of ‘Nation First, Always First’, calling upon people to work together to preserve the country’s unity and strengthen the spirit of national solidarity.
National Unity Day is observed every year on October 31 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and recognise his contribution to India’s national integration.
