While reviewing the functioning of the Government Railway Police (GRP), the Chief Minister stated that Uttar Pradesh, being the country’s largest rail traffic state, requires a robust and efficient security framework capable of addressing emerging challenges in railway transportation.

He stressed that passenger safety, women’s security, crime prevention, and prompt police assistance must remain the highest priorities for law enforcement agencies operating within railway premises. Officials were asked to strengthen monitoring systems, improve coordination among security agencies, and ensure a rapid response mechanism for incidents affecting passengers. The review also focused on improving policing standards and enhancing public confidence in railway security services.
The state government has been emphasizing the adoption of technology-driven governance across departments, and the latest directions are expected to contribute to safer and more secure rail travel for millions of passengers who use Uttar Pradesh’s extensive railway network every day.
