CM Yogi Adityanath Directs Police to Intensify Patrolling and Deploy Drones as Kanwar Yatra Security Enters High Alert Mode

CM Yogi Adityanath has directed authorities to strengthen security for the Kanwar Yatra by increasing police patrolling, deploying drones and keeping emergency services on high alert.

CM Yogi Adityanath: With thousands of devotees visiting Lord Shiva through the Kanwar Yatra held every year in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued instructions to the government officials to make arrangements for security measures in the state.

CM Yogi Adityanath Orders High Alert Across Uttar Pradesh

In a high-level review meeting, CM Yogi Adityanath instructed his officers to stay vigilant during the entire course of the Kanwar Yatra. The police officers were asked to stay vigilant on highways, city roads, and sensitive spots in order to make the pilgrimage trouble-free for the devotees.

Police Patrolling to Be Intensified on Kanwar Routes

The Uttar Pradesh Police has been asked to intensify patrolling on all major Kanwar routes to avoid any unpleasant situation. The patrolling shall be done through foot patrolling, and motorcycle patrolling, which shall continue to keep watch on the highway, marketplaces, and other places where devotees congregate.

Drone Surveillance on Crowds and Sensitive Areas

One of the major highlights of this year’s security plan is that drones shall be used for real-time surveillance. The drones shall monitor the crowds, traffic congestion, and sensitive areas from the air.

Special Vigilance at Temples and Public Places

The state government has instructed officials to tighten security around major temples, ghats, railway stations, bus terminals, and public gathering points.  Authorities have also been asked to ensure CCTV cameras remain operational and that surveillance systems are monitored continuously throughout the yatra.

Traffic Management Plans Strengthened

Managing traffic remains one of the biggest challenges during the Kanwar Yatra. The administration has prepared special traffic diversion plans to minimize congestion while ensuring smooth movement for both pilgrims and the general public. Police have been directed to coordinate with local administrations to implement diversions, regulate heavy vehicle movement where necessary, and provide timely traffic updates.
