Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has highlighted the expansion of road, rail and air connectivity in the state since 2017, citing improvements in expressways, airports and metro rail services. He said the infrastructure push under the BJP’s double-engine government had created new opportunities for economic growth, employment, tourism and public convenience.
In a post on X, Adityanath credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance for the transformation, saying the government had focused on improving the speed, scale and connectivity of infrastructure development across Uttar Pradesh.
Expressway Network Expands to 10 Operational Routes: CM Yogi Adityanath
The Chief Minister said that before the BJP’s double-engine government came to power, Uttar Pradesh had only around one-and-a-half expressways. He claimed that the state now has 10 operational expressways, reflecting the expansion of its road infrastructure.
Improved road connectivity, he said, was helping farmers transport their produce to larger markets while creating better opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs. Expressways also support smoother movement between different parts of the state.
Expansion of Domestic and International Airports
Highlighting the growth of aviation infrastructure, Adityanath said that air services were previously limited to a few selected cities. He stated that Uttar Pradesh now has 12 domestic and five international airports.
The expansion of airport connectivity is expected to improve access for passengers, business travellers and tourists. It can also support commercial activity and strengthen links between the state and other domestic and international destinations.
Metro Services Now Operating in Seven Cities
Adityanath also pointed to the expansion of metro rail services, saying that no city in Uttar Pradesh had metro connectivity before 2017. According to him, metro services are now operational in seven cities, providing an additional public transport option for urban residents.
