CM Yogi Adityanath

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the crucial role of traditional artisans and craftsmen in establishing India as a strong player in the global economy.

In line with this vision, he attended the inauguration of the 49th International Carpet Fair held under the aegis of the Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) in the world-famous carpet city of Bhadohi. The fair aims to promote the craftsmanship and business of Bhadohi’s skilled artisans to both domestic and international markets.

During the event, CM Yogi also distributed financial assistance cheques to beneficiaries of various government schemes, supporting small entrepreneurs and craftsmen to scale their businesses.

The Chief Minister assured that the Uttar Pradesh government remains fully committed to standing alongside traders and entrepreneurs, providing them with the necessary support for growth and sustainability. He extended his best wishes for the success of the fair, emphasizing its importance in boosting trade, employment, and the recognition of India’s traditional crafts on the global stage.

Boosting Employment and Exports

The fair not only provides a platform for artisans to showcase their talent but also helps generate significant employment opportunities in Bhadohi. Skilled workers involved in carpet weaving, dyeing, and finishing gain direct access to buyers, increasing their income and livelihood security. Additionally, the event strengthens India’s export potential by connecting local producers with international buyers, thereby contributing to the country’s trade revenue.

Government Support and Future Plans

Officials stated that the state government plans to further modernize production facilities and provide training programs for young artisans. Initiatives such as digital marketing support, easy access to credit, and participation in international expos are expected to enhance global competitiveness. CM Yogi emphasized that such fairs are key to sustaining traditional skills while integrating them into the modern economy.

This international carpet fair, therefore, represents not just a trade event but a step toward cultural preservation, economic growth, and empowerment of artisans in Uttar Pradesh.
