Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday attended the Progressive Farmers’ Conference and inaugurated the Rabi Session ‘Kisan Pathshala 8.0’ in Barabanki. The event aimed at empowering farmers with modern agricultural practices, technological awareness, and government-backed support systems.

Empowering Farmers in the ‘New Uttar Pradesh’

Sharing details of the programme on social media, CM Yogi described farmers as the core strength of the state’s development. He reiterated that the hallmark of a “New Uttar Pradesh” is a strong, prosperous and self-reliant farming community. His message – “नए उत्तर प्रदेश की पहचान: सशक्त किसान, समृद्ध किसान” – underlined the government’s commitment to agricultural upliftment.

Focus on Modern Farming Techniques

During the event, the Chief Minister highlighted several initiatives aimed at educating farmers about new technologies such as drone usage for fertiliser spraying, soil health monitoring, and water-efficient irrigation methods. He encouraged farmers to adopt scientific practices to increase productivity and profitability, especially during the Rabi season.

Boost to Agri-Infrastructure

CM Yogi also reviewed ongoing agricultural infrastructure projects in the district, including cold storage facilities, rural mandis, and crop procurement centres. He assured farmers that the government is committed to ensuring timely MSP procurement, availability of quality seeds, and better market linkages.

Government Schemes Benefiting Farmers

The programme featured interactive sessions where officials explained key government schemes such as PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, Kisan Credit Card expansion, solar pump installations under PM-KUSUM, and crop insurance benefits. The Chief Minister said these schemes have been effectively transforming the economic condition of rural households across the state.

Farmers Express Gratitude

Several progressive farmers from Barabanki and neighbouring districts shared success stories, acknowledging how government initiatives have helped them adopt innovative methods and improve yields. They praised the Kisan Pathshala model for providing free, practical agriculture training at the village level.
