CM Yogi Adityanath said he personally inspected rain shelters in Bargadwa and Rapti Nagar during his visit to Gorakhpur. He also distributed woollen clothes to people in need, reaffirming the government’s commitment to welfare-focused governance.

According to the Chief Minister, 19 rain shelters are currently operational within the Gorakhpur metropolitan area, offering temporary accommodation to more than 1,000 needy people, many of whom were earlier forced to live on sidewalks and near railway tracks.

Safe and Organised Facilities

The Chief Minister emphasised that all rain shelters are safe, well-managed and functioning in an organised manner. He added that arrangements for food, bedding and basic facilities are being ensured so that vulnerable sections of society are protected during harsh weather.

Focus on Dignity and Care

CM Yogi Adityanath said the state government’s priority is to ensure that no poor or homeless person is left without support, particularly during winter and rainy conditions. He directed district administrations to remain alert and proactive in identifying those in need and extending timely assistance.

The initiative reflects the Uttar Pradesh government’s continued focus on people-centric welfare measures, aiming to provide dignity, safety and basic necessities to the most vulnerable sections of society.
