Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp attack on the Congress party, accusing it of nurturing and encouraging Naxal ideology, which he described as a symbol of separatism, anarchy, and violence. His remarks come in the middle of intensified political debates over national security and internal threats.
Taking to social media, CM Yogi stated that Congress has always strengthened Naxalism through its “divisive and fragmented thinking.” He alleged that the party, driven by political gains, provided moral support to Naxal networks and offered political backing to their sympathisers, thereby compromising India’s security.
“NAC Weakened Security Forces During UPA Rule”
CM Yogi Adityanath further targeted the UPA-era National Advisory Council (NAC), claiming that its policy decisions weakened the security grid of the nation. According to him, the NAC’s approach not only restrained the operations of security forces but also endangered the country’s defence by giving indirect space to violent groups.
He added that the Congress leadership repeatedly undermined the sacrifices of security personnel by aligning with individuals who were sympathetic towards extremist ideologies.
PM Modi’s Statement Echoed
The Chief Minister echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remarks, stating that the Congress has turned into a “Muslim League Maoist Congress”—a party where votes matter more than ideology or national integrity.
CM Yogi named individuals such as Binayak Sen, Gautam Navlakha and Varavara Rao, asserting that Congress’s support for such figures exposes its deep-rooted encouragement of extremist views.
“Congress-Naxal Nexus a Black Spot on Democracy”
Calling the alleged Congress–Naxal link a “black stain on India’s democracy,” he said this nexus poses a direct challenge to the nation’s sovereignty. According to him, the people of India now clearly understand the reality and are aware of Congress’s role in emboldening violence-backed networks.
The Chief Minister emphasised that under the leadership of PM Modi, India has moved towards a stronger internal security system, with decisive actions taken against Naxal terror networks in multiple states.
