CM Yogi Adityanath: Union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced that Uttar Pradesh is all ready to complete development projects in the state worth Rs. 92,000 crore in its quest to reach its goal of Rs. 1 lakh crore.
Vaishnaw also commented that the Union Government has approved two new bullet train corridors in the state of CM Yogi Adityanath – Varanasi to Siliguri and Delhi to Varanasi – that would significantly cut travel time while improving regional connectivity.

The Delhi to Varanasi bullet train would cover a distance of 865 kilometres in 3 hours and 50 minutes. It would pass through Noida, Mathura, Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow and Prayagraj. The Varanasi to Siliguri bullet train would pass through Patna before it heads east, reducing travel time to less than 3 hours.
Vaishnaw remarked a significant majority of these high-speed tracks in the state of Uttar Pradesh would be elevated. This would help in reducing environmental impact and reducing issues related to land acquisition.
Seven high-speed railway projects have been sanctioned by the Indian government in the second phase, two in North and East India and five in South and West. This would help in creating a seamless, commuter-friendly and sprawling high-speed railway network across the country.
Uttar Pradesh-A Perfect Example For Other States
Vaishnaw commented that the state of Uttar Pradesh has shown other states a ray of hope and determination by achieving 100 percent railway electrification that is undoubtedly a special milestone contributing to both efficiency and sustainability. The Minister remarked 157 railway stations in Uttar Pradesh would undergo complete redevelopment under the country’s glorious Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The Minister added the state’s railway budget allocation has hit a record high of Rs. 20,012 crore, transforming the once “Bimaru” state into a highly progressive state, creating jobs for millions.
