According to the report, despite being India’s most populous state, Uttar Pradesh recorded a crime rate 28.5% lower than the national average.

The government stated that while the national average crime rate stood at 252.3, Uttar Pradesh recorded a rate of 180.2, reflecting what officials described as strengthened policing and improved security measures across the state.
