Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Jalaun district on Thursday (October 9) to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for 48 major projects worth ₹1,706 crore. The projects span several crucial sectors, including Roads, Education, Health, Irrigation, Water Corporation, Rural Development, and Urban Development.
Focus on Infrastructure and Connectivity
During his visit, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of improving connectivity and infrastructure to boost local development and attract investment to the Bundelkhand region.
Several major projects were inaugurated, including the Sihara–Pal–Sarsai–Rajpur Road, featuring a new bridge over the Yamuna River at Pal Ghat. The Konch–Moh–Mihini–Bobhan Road was upgraded with stronger approach roads and enhanced safety measures near the Pawan River.
Similarly, the Orai–Konch Road was widened and strengthened up to 27.03 km to improve traffic flow and reduce travel time between key towns.
Boost to Power and Energy Infrastructure
Under the Green Energy Corridor initiative, CM Yogi inaugurated 132–132 kV substations and transmission lines at Kutal and Khodera, aimed at ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply to rural and industrial areas.
Foundation stones were also laid for 400 kV and 220 kV substations in the Mehwata area, further enhancing the state’s renewable energy integration and power transmission capacity.
Enhancing Governance and Administrative Reach
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction of residential and office buildings at Orai Tehsil Headquarters, designed to improve administrative efficiency and provide better facilities for government officers.
In addition, several road projects connecting smaller towns and villages—such as Orai–Konch–Nadigad, Eta–Korona, Jalawan–Nehil, Anina–Iroti, and Rakh–Khodar–Manhaga—were approved for widening and strengthening to facilitate smoother transportation across the district.
Promoting Cultural and Regional Heritage
Recognizing the cultural significance of local heritage, an access road to the historic Jalaun Devi Temple will be developed, making it more accessible for pilgrims and visitors. This aligns with the government’s broader vision to promote religious tourism and local economic growth through heritage development.
