CM Yogi Adityanath: In a significant development milestone for Bundelkhand, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday held a mega public programme in Lalitpur, where he laid the foundation stones for 221 development projects cumulatively worth ₹1766 crore. The event was described as a mega show by the Chief Minister in Lalitpur, with foundation stones laid for 221 projects. The programme is part of the BJP’s accelerating Jan Kalyan (public welfare) outreach blitz being carried out across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 state Assembly elections.
A District Long Left Behind, Now Centre Stage
Lalitpur, one of the historically underdeveloped districts of the Bundelkhand region, has often lagged behind in terms of infrastructure, water resources, and connectivity. Saturday’s programme signals a decisive shift, with the state channelling massive resources into transforming the district’s development landscape. The projects are expected to span sectors including roads and connectivity, irrigation, drinking water supply, health infrastructure, and public welfare schemes.
Double Engine Government’s Development Model
CM Yogi Adityanath has consistently emphasised that the double engine government — with the BJP at both the state and Centre — has significantly strengthened basic infrastructure and welfare delivery across Uttar Pradesh, ensuring access to electricity, roads, and clean drinking water for citizens. The Lalitpur programme is the latest in a rapid series of such district-level investment events. In recent weeks alone, Yogi has led similar programmes across Unnao (₹570 crore, 101 projects), Balrampur (₹294 crore, 75 projects), and Gonda (₹516 crore, 262 projects), reflecting a statewide pattern of accelerated delivery.
Beneficiaries Receive Direct Welfare Support
CM Yogi Adityanath: Consistent with the format of such programmes across UP, beneficiaries of various state and central government welfare schemes — including housing, employment, and health — were also expected to receive certificates, cheques, and appointment letters during the Lalitpur event, ensuring the day delivered direct impact beyond just infrastructure announcements.
