Ganga Expressway to Be Completed by February 2026, CM Yogi Adityanath Government Sets Strict Deadline

Officials were reminded that meeting deadlines is critical to sustaining investor confidence and ensuring inclusive growth across Uttar Pradesh.

The Ganga Expressway, one of Uttar Pradesh’s most ambitious infrastructure projects, is targeted for completion by 15 February 2026, the CM Yogi Adityanath-led government has confirmed. The deadline was reiterated during a high-level review meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary SP Goyal.

SP Goyal directed all concerned departments to strictly adhere to project timelines, warning that delays in major infrastructure projects could negatively impact investment inflow and employment generation in the state.

CM Yogi Adityanath: Focus on Timely Delivery and Construction Quality

The instructions were issued during a Project Monitoring Group (PMG) review meeting held on Thursday. Senior officials presented progress reports on key flagship projects, including expressways and industrial corridors.

Emphasising accountability, the Chief Secretary stressed that both speed and quality of construction must be maintained, as these projects form the backbone of Uttar Pradesh’s industrial and economic growth strategy.

Ganga Expressway and Industrial Corridor Connectivity

Highlighting the strategic importance of the Ganga Expressway, SP Goyal said the project will play a crucial role in improving regional connectivity and supporting industrial development. He also instructed departments to accelerate land acquisition for the UP Defence Industrial Corridor and projects under the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BUDA).

According to officials, seamless linkage between the Ganga Expressway and industrial corridors is expected to boost logistics efficiency, attract investors and create large-scale job opportunities across multiple districts.

BUDA Master Plan-2045 Gets Deadline

Special emphasis was placed on long-term planning for Bundelkhand. SP Goyal directed officials to complete zonal and sector plans under BUDA’s Master Plan-2045 by 31 March 2026. He noted that timely planning would strengthen the ecosystem around the Ganga Expressway and other regional development corridors.

The Yogi Adityanath government views the Ganga Expressway as a transformative project that will drive industrial expansion, regional balance and employment generation.
