To minimize inconvenience to residents, authorities have chosen this timeframe which coincides with Mahashivratri (March 8) and the weekend (March 9-10). Additionally, permission has been sought from the traffic department to manage potential traffic disruptions during the excavation work.

The shutdown will specifically affect the 50 cusec Pratap Vihar plant, potentially impacting the water supply for an estimated 20 lakh residents across Noida and Ghaziabad.
