A major controversy erupted in Ghaziabad's Nandgram area after Hindu organizations, including Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, alleged that a popular juice shop named "Delhi Juice Corner" was mixing urine and spit in the beverages.
Hindu Groups Protest, Police Intervene
On Sunday, dozens of protesters shouted slogans outside Delhi Juice Corner and demanded action. The crowd got agitated, and soon the local police officers arrived at the scene to pacify the masses. The shop was ordered to be shut down temporarily due to safety concerns.
Food Safety Department Collects Samples
After the incident, the food safety department officials visited the shop and took samples of juices and other beverage liquids. These have been taken to a laboratory to be tested. The officials have stated that test results would dictate whether or not there was any poisonous or distasteful substance added to the beverages.
Similar Incident Reported Recently
Interestingly, another such case was reported previously on July 12, in Siddharth Vihar under Vijaynagar Police Station. A juice shop was also accused of adulteration, but the police arrived to confirm that it was untrue. Police fear some forces might be attempting to disrupt peace and harmony.
Written Complaint Filed by Bajrang Dal
Bajrang Dal members have lodged a written complaint at the Nandgram Police. They argue that a bit of fluid contained in a bottle at the store was like urine, which caused uproar among the people. The police and food safety department are also carrying outa fact-based investigation now.
Public Urged to Stay Calm
The government has encouraged civilians not to be violent, but to be careful and not believe in rumors. Officials pointed out that the truth shall come out after lab tests, and the corresponding action will be taken.
