Ghaziabad News: Dengue Cases in Ghaziabad Hit 10-Year High: 1245 Cases Reported

Ghaziabad is grappling with a surge in dengue cases, marking a 10-year high with 1245 cases recorded till Wednesday, along with four dengue-related deaths this season. The district, which reported 662 cases in 2022, witnessed a significant increase this year, attributed to enhanced diagnostic services and improved reporting. Dr. Rakesh Gupta, the district surveillance officer, highlighted the deployment of 104 dengue beds across government hospitals, with maximum occupancy reaching 20%. Sensitive areas, including Govindpuram, Bhanhera, Mirzapur, Vijay Nagar, Harsaon, Indirapuram, and Vasundhara, were identified for intensive mosquito larvae checks.

Gautam Budh Nagar Witnesses Decline in Dengue Cases Post-Diwali

In Gautam Budh Nagar, the health department reported a decline in dengue cases post-Diwali (November 12). The number of fresh cases dropped to a daily low of one or two, compared to the four or five cases reported daily before Diwali. Until October 25, the district recorded 924 dengue cases in 2023, but by November 18, cases had significantly decreased. On November 18, only three cases were reported, followed by two cases on November 19, zero cases on November 20, and two cases each on November 21 and 22.
