Ghaziabad's Hindon Airport, located near Delhi, is set to become a major travel hub as Air India Express announces new flight routes starting from 1 March 2025. The airline broke the news on its official social media platform, X, revealing its plans to connect the Delhi NCR region to several prominent destinations across India.
Currently, Hindon Airport operates flights to cities like Adampur, Kishangarh, Nanded, Ludhiana, and Bathinda. With the addition of Air India Express flights, this list will grow to include Bengaluru, Goa, and Kolkata, marking a significant step towards enhancing regional connectivity.
New Air India Express Routes and Fares
Air India Express shared its excitement about launching direct flights from Hindon Airport, offering convenient options for passengers traveling to Bengaluru, Goa, and Kolkata. The airline highlighted its competitive fares, starting at ₹4,400 for Hindon–Kolkata and ₹4,900 for Hindon–Goa. The Bengaluru–Hindon route will begin at ₹6,000, while the Kolkata–Hindon journey will cost ₹5,500.
In addition to affordable prices, passengers can enjoy premium services like "Express Ahead" for priority boarding and their signature "Gourmet" hot meals, enhancing the overall travel experience. Tickets for these routes are now available on the airline's website and other major booking platforms.
Convenience for Delhi NCR and Ghaziabad Residents
This development brings much-needed convenience for residents of Ghaziabad and nearby areas. Earlier, passengers often had to travel to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi for domestic flights. With Air India Express now operating from Hindon Airport, commuting times will be significantly reduced, making travel more accessible for people living on Delhi's outskirts.
Job Growth and Regional Development
The new routes are expected to bring economic growth to the region. The increase in passenger traffic is likely to benefit auto and taxi drivers, with additional employment opportunities arising for airport crew and hospitality staff. New hotels and restaurants are anticipated to open, catering to the growing influx of travelers.
Hindon Airport’s expansion with Air India Express promises not only improved connectivity but also a positive impact on the local economy, boosting employment and infrastructure development in Ghaziabad and surrounding areas.
