The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a major infrastructure boost for Gorakhpur with the inauguration and foundation laying of 14 development projects worth more than ₹995 crore. The initiatives aim to strengthen urban infrastructure, improve traffic management, and create new opportunities for business and employment in the city.
CM Yogi Adityanath Launches 14 Infrastructure Projects
The projects have been undertaken under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, with a focus on modernizing cities while preserving their historical, cultural, and spiritual heritage.
Gorakhpur Gets ₹995 Crore Development Boost
Among the key projects are a six-lane flyover from Transport Nagar to Padleganj and a four-lane flyover connecting Deoria Bypass Road, both designed to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity in Gorakhpur. Officials believe these infrastructure upgrades will make daily commuting smoother and support the city’s long-term economic growth.
The state government said the projects will help strengthen Gorakhpur’s urban infrastructure, encourage investment, and generate employment opportunities while expanding public amenities.
Known as the sacred city of Guru Gorakhnath, Gorakhpur has witnessed rapid development in recent years. The government said the latest projects are part of its broader vision to transform the city into a smart, well-planned urban centre with modern civic facilities.
The inauguration and foundation stone-laying ceremony is scheduled for 23 July 2026 at 10:30 AM on Deoria Bypass Road in Gorakhpur.
