Greater Noida–Faridabad Road Link to Begin Next Month, Manjhawali Bridge Awaits Opening

Land acquisition for the project, involving around 6.88 hectares across four villages, has also been completed. Kanchan, Executive Engineer of PWD.

Greater Noida is set to be directly connected to Faridabad as construction of a crucial road link is scheduled to begin next month. The project will not only improve regional connectivity between Uttar Pradesh and Haryana but also ease traffic pressure on Delhi routes.

According to officials, a 4.99-kilometre stretch will be developed to link Greater Noida with the Manjhawali bridge. Out of this, 1.7 km will be a newly constructed road, providing a direct connection to the bridge, while the remaining 3.29 km of the existing road will be widened into a four-lane route. The Public Works Department (PWD) has been tasked with executing the work, and the process of finalising the construction agency is underway.

The Uttar Pradesh government has already sanctioned a budget of ₹65.50 crore in August for the road construction and widening. Land acquisition for the project, involving around 6.88 hectares across four villages, has also been completed. Kanchan, Executive Engineer of PWD, confirmed that since both budget and land have been secured, the construction will start next month.

Manjhawali Bridge Completed, Awaits Inauguration

The Manjhawali bridge, which connects Faridabad with Greater Noida and Noida, has already been completed. However, the bridge is yet to be inaugurated and opened for public use. Once the road work on the Greater Noida side is finished, the bridge will become fully operational for traffic.

The foundation stone for the bridge was laid in 2014 by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, and residents of both states have been eagerly waiting for its opening since then.

Boost to Connectivity and Commuters’ Relief

Officials and local residents believe the project will significantly cut travel time between Faridabad, Noida, and Greater Noida. Currently, commuters often rely on Delhi routes, which face congestion. The new link road and bridge are expected to offer smoother passage and reduce traffic pressure on the capital.

Once operational, the Greater Noida–Manjhawali–Faridabad corridor will provide a faster and more direct route for daily commuters, logistics movement, and inter-state connectivity, benefitting thousands of people in both Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
