Kanpur Lamborghini Accident: On February 7, 2026, a Lamborghini Revuelto lost control on VIP Road near Ring Wala Chauraha, Kanpur, striking an autorickshaw, parked motorcycle, and pedestrians. At least six people were injured, including driver Tauseef Ahmed and pedestrians Vishal and Sonu Tripathi. The 26-year-old son of tobacco tycoon KK Mishra, Shivam Mishra, was later identified as the driver.

Investigations Confirm Mishra Behind the Wheel

Despite initial family and lawyer claims that a hired driver named Mohan was driving, CCTV footage and eyewitnesses confirmed Mishra’s presence behind the wheel. Dramatic video footage showed bouncers pulling someone from the car after the crash, raising questions about VIP culture and delayed police action. The FIR, initially filed against an unknown person, was updated with charges including:

  • Section 281: Rash driving
  • Section 125: Endangering life
  • Section 324(4): Causing hurt by dangerous means

Arrest and Legal Proceedings

Mishra evaded arrest initially, while his driver Mohan’s surrender was rejected by a Kanpur court on February 10. Five police teams eventually tracked Mishra to a hospital, where he underwent a medical examination before appearing in court. An SHO faced disciplinary action for procedural lapses, and the Lamborghini was seized for further inspection.

Public Backlash and VIP Culture Debate

Kanpur Lamborghini Accident: The case has sparked outrage on social media and among citizens, highlighting perceived leniency toward wealthy individuals. Police assured a swift charge sheet, while public debates focused on accountability, legal loopholes, and the role of Banshidhar Exports, Mishra’s father’s company that owns the Lamborghini.

As investigations continue, Shivam Mishra’s arrest has reignited discussions on road safety, elite privilege, and the need for strict enforcement to prevent reckless driving, regardless of social status.
