As the Kanwar Yatra 2025 is set to begin on July 11, the Ghaziabad administration is gearing up to manage the massive influx of pilgrims. The Ghaziabad Traffic Police has announced a comprehensive traffic diversion plan, which will remain in effect from July 11 to July 25.

According to ADCP Traffic Sachidanand, heavy vehicles will be diverted from the night of July 11, while light vehicles will face restrictions starting July 19. The Delhi-Meerut Expressway will also be closed for general traffic from July 19 onward. The diversions will apply primarily on the route from Kashi Toll Plaza in Meerut to UP Gate in Ghaziabad.

A helpline number has also been released by the police for public assistance during the yatra period.

Ghaziabad Traffic Diversion Plan During Kanwar Yatra

Heavy vehicles from Delhi via Loni Border, Tulsi Niketan, Seemapuri, Anand Vihar will not be allowed to enter Ghaziabad. Vehicles headed to Haridwar, Amroha, Moradabad, Lucknow must use Chaudhary Charan Singh Marg → UP Gate → NH-9 → Dasna → Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

Vehicles coming from Baghpat to Delhi will be diverted through Tronica City and Sonia Vihar.

Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter Loni town via Loni Border

Vehicles coming from Hapur or Bulandshahr will be restricted from Dasna Bridge, Lal Kuan, Atmaram Steel Plant Tri-section toward Ghaziabad city. Those headed to Delhi must use NH-9.

Entry of heavy vehicles from Santosh Medical Cut to Meerut Tiraha on New Link Road will be prohibited.

Entry of heavy vehicles will be restricted from Gaur Green, Khoda, Kala Patthar, Sector-62, Chhijarsi, and Kanawani Pusta to Indirapuram via NH-9.

Heavy vehicle movement will be restricted on Ganga Canal Road (Kanwar Marg), Pipeline Road NH-34 (formerly NH-58), and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway.

Vehicles coming from Hapur and Bhojpur will be prohibited from entering Modinagar.

Vehicle movement on Solar Energy Road to Sahibabad Underpass and Sahibabad Station Cut towards GT Road will be suspended.

This diversion plan has been prepared to ensure the smooth movement of Kanwariyas and to prevent traffic congestion during the peak yatra days. Commuters are advised to plan their travel in advance and follow traffic advisories issued by the Ghaziabad Traffic Police.
