Law and Order to Maha Kumbh, Yogi Adityanath Lists Down His Government’s Achievements in Last 8 Years

On completing eight years in office, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reflected on the state's transformation under his leadership. Speaking in Lucknow, he emphasized the drastic improvements in law and order since 2017, contrasting it with the pre-2017 scenario when, he claimed, riots were an almost daily occurrence, and citizens, particularly traders and women, felt unsafe.

Mahakumbh as a Symbol of Change

Citing the Prayagraj Mahakumbh as an example, the CM highlighted the efficient security management during the 45-day-long religious event. He pointed out that no major law and order incidents disrupted the gathering of millions of devotees, showcasing UP’s improved policing.

Major Police Recruitment and Transparency

Yogi Adityanath also addressed the issue of police vacancies and recruitment.

"There were 1.5 lakh vacancies in the UP police department in 2017... The recruitment process was not transparent. Today, more than 2,16,000 police personnel have been recruited," he stated.

The Chief Minister credited his government for streamlining the hiring process, ensuring transparency, and strengthening the police force to uphold law and order.

BJP's Tough Stance on Crime

The UP government has consistently pushed its "zero-tolerance" policy on crime, a key agenda point for the BJP. The administration’s focus on encounters, bulldozer actions against criminals, and strict enforcement of the law has drawn both praise and criticism.

With UP set to play a crucial role in the upcoming elections, Yogi Adityanath’s focus on law and order remains a significant talking point in his governance narrative.
