The move is expected to benefit economically weaker sections and lower-income families looking for quality housing at affordable rates in the city.

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has announced a major update under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), offering fresh opportunities for affordable housing in the state capital. As part of its New Year initiative, LDA will reopen online registration for the re-allotment of residential units under the affordable housing scheme in Sharda Nagar Extension, Lucknow.

According to LDA officials, a total of 185 housing units that became vacant due to refunds will now be re-allotted through a lottery system. These units are part of the 2,256 houses earlier constructed and allotted under PMAY through a lottery draw. The fresh registration window will remain open from January 1 to January 31, 2026.

The authority has ensured that the affordable housing scheme is equipped with modern urban facilities. For the first time, lift facilities have been included in this category of housing. In addition, residents will benefit from clean drinking water, uninterrupted electricity supply, power backup, security arrangements, ample parking space, green areas, children’s play zones, and landscaped parks, making the project suitable for families and senior citizens alike.

Interested applicants can complete the registration process online through the official LDA website by paying a registration fee of ₹5,000. The detailed registration booklet and scheme guidelines have already been uploaded on the portal to ensure transparency and easy access to information.

LDA officials stated that this initiative aligns with the broader vision of PM Awas Yojana, which aims to provide “Housing for All” while promoting planned urban development in Lucknow. The move is expected to benefit economically weaker sections and lower-income families looking for quality housing at affordable rates in the city.
