Describing the festival as a symbol of faith, spirituality, and Sanatan traditions, the Chief Minister prayed for peace, prosperity, and the fulfillment of wishes of all devotees.
Magh Mela 2026 Begins with Devotion and Grandeur
Welcoming pilgrims to Teerthraj Prayagraj, CM Yogi expressed deep reverence for the holy confluence where devotees take a ritual dip during the Magh Mela. He warmly greeted saints, seers, religious leaders, members of various akharas, and Kalpvasis who have arrived at the sacred Sangam to observe spiritual practices during the month-long religious gathering.
Invoking divine blessings, the Chief Minister prayed to Maa Ganga, Maa Yamuna, and Maa Saraswati for the well-being of all. He highlighted that Magh Mela is not only a major spiritual congregation but also a reflection of India’s rich cultural and religious heritage, attracting devotees from across the country.

The Uttar Pradesh government has made extensive arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of Magh Mela 2026, focusing on safety, sanitation, healthcare, traffic management, and other essential facilities for pilgrims. Special emphasis has been laid on cleanliness of the ghats, uninterrupted water and electricity supply, and robust security measures.
Magh Mela holds immense religious significance, with lakhs of devotees taking the holy dip believing it purifies the soul and leads to spiritual upliftment. With traditional rituals, religious discourses, and cultural activities, the fair once again positions Prayagraj as a global center of faith and devotion.
