Mahakumbh 2025: Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, leader of the banned outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), has issued a fresh video threat to disrupt the upcoming Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The religious event is scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 26, 2025.
Calls for "Prayagraj Chalo" and Raising Flags
In the video, Pannun urged his supporters to rally under the banner of "Prayagraj Chalo" to oppose and "kill Hindutva ideology." He also incited them to raise Khalistani and Kashmiri flags at airports in Lucknow and Prayagraj. Concluding his statement, he declared, “Mahakumbh Prayagraj 2025 will become a battlefield.”
This is the second threat from Pannun targeting the Mahakumbh within ten days. In an earlier video, he vowed to disrupt key bathing dates, including Makar Sankranti (January 14), Mauni Amavasya (January 29), and Basant Panchami (February 3).
Akhada Parishad Condemns Threat
The Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad has strongly condemned Pannun’s threats. Mahant Ravindra Puri, president of the Parishad, called Pannun a “lunatic” and dismissed the threats as baseless.
“If this person named Pannun dares to enter our Maha Kumbh, he will be beaten and driven out. We have seen hundreds of such lunatics,” Mahant Ravindra Puri stated, as quoted by PTI.
He further emphasized the unity between Hindus and Sikhs, highlighting that the Sikh community has always played a vital role in preserving Sanatan Dharma.
Security Concerns
The threat comes shortly after three Khalistani Zindabad Force militants were killed in an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh and Punjab Police in Pilibhit. Security has been heightened in and around Prayagraj to ensure the safety of attendees during the Mahakumbh.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and taking precautionary measures to prevent any disruptions.
