Meerut News: A female dentist residing in Meerut has registered a complaint against four individuals, including her Navy officer husband, alleging dowry harassment. The dentist claims that her husband, currently posted in the Navy, has been pressuring her for a BMW car and a sum of Rs 14 lakh as dowry. According to her, she was subjected to physical abuse and threats of divorce for failing to fulfill these demands. The dentist has filed her report against her spouse, as well as her father-in-law, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law, all of whom are connected to the Navy.
Navy Officer and Family Accused of Dowry Harassment by Dentist Wife
The dentist, a resident of the Ganganagar police station area, stated that her marriage to Shrikant, a Navy officer residing in Delhi Dwarka, took place in February 2020. However, three months into their marriage, the dentist moved to her maternal home in Meerut to prepare for the AIIMS examination, which was to occur in May 2022. Since then, she has remained at her parents' house in Meerut.
The dentist alleges that she has repeatedly reached out to her husband, Shrikant, who has consistently found excuses to avoid contact. The dentist insists that all aspects were agreed upon prior to their marriage, with her family providing a dowry according to their means. Nevertheless, she claims that her in-laws continue to subject her to harassment. The dentist is seeking police intervention against her in-laws, expressing her desire to return to their residence. However, her husband and in-laws are allegedly opposed to her living with them.
