There is big news for the students studying in madrassas of Uttar Pradesh. The central government has issued a big order regarding madrassa students. According to which, students studying in Madrassas of Uttar Pradesh from Class 1 to 8 will no longer be given scholarship. Last year, about 6 lakh students up to class 8 studying in madrassas got scholarship.
One thousand rupees are given as scholarship in a year to the students of classes one to five studying in madrassas. But now this will not happen. According to the order issued by the Minority Department, education from class 1st to 8th is free and compulsory under the Right to Education. Apart from this, other important things are also given free of cost. That’s why there is no reason to give scholarship to such students. Scholarship will be given only to the students of 9th and 10th.
Applications were sought till 15 November
According to a news, applications for scholarship were sought by the department till 15 November. The process was suddenly stopped after the applications were submitted by the institutes. Now it has been said to continue the order only for the students of 9th and 10th.
Madrasa Board chairman said this regarding the survey
Recently, Javed Iftikhar, chairman of the Madarsa Board, issued a letter regarding the survey. In which he thanked the madrasa operators for their cooperation. He had said that this survey was not for legal-illegal. The objective of the survey is to provide better education to the children. No madrassa is fake, or illegal. He had said that governments conduct surveys from time to time. The surveys conducted during earlier governments were not for the purpose of reforms, that’s why they were not discussed.
