The inaugural IndiGo flight arrived from Lucknow in the morning, officially launching commercial operations at the airport. The development is expected to significantly improve regional connectivity, strengthen the National Capital Region’s aviation network, and provide travelers with an additional gateway to northern India.

Officials have stated that the airport will boost investment

Developed as a major aviation hub, the Noida International Airport is designed to complement Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and reduce congestion in the region. In its first phase, the airport has the capacity to handle around 12 million passengers annually and is expected to play a key role in supporting passenger traffic and cargo operations.

Officials have stated that the airport will boost investment, tourism, logistics, and employment opportunities across western Uttar Pradesh and the wider NCR region. Improved air connectivity is also expected to accelerate economic activity and infrastructure development around Jewar and adjoining areas.

The launch marks the culmination of years of planning and construction for the flagship project. With airlines including IndiGo, Akasa Air, and Air India Express planning services from the airport, Noida International Airport is poised to emerge as a major transportation and economic hub in the coming years.
