Noida International Airport: MB Patil, the Minister for Large and Medium Industries, handed over India’s first indigenously manufactured airport runway cleaning vehicle to the Noida International Airport Limited.
The advanced vehicle has been developed under the ‘Make in India’ initiative by Bengaluru-based On Lawn Technology Solutions Limited. This marks the first occasion when a specialized runway cleaning system has been manufactured and designed domestically in the country.
What Makes This Noida International Airport News Special?
The vehicles were made by the Bengaluru company in association with Switzerland-based Bucher Municipal. They have been assembled at a facility of Anlon at Adinarayanahosahalli near Doddaballapur.
In a release, it was said that the vehicles have been designed to effortlessly remove sharp mental fragments and nails from runways that may pose a big risk to aircraft tyres. It was added that they would also be used for vacuuming dust and clearing algae that can cause aircrafts to skid during landing.
The keys of the vehicles were handed by Patil to NIAL representative Pradeep Rana.
