Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has welcomed the Union Cabinet’s decision to extend the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme from the financial year 2026-27 to 2030-31, calling it a landmark step for the welfare of farmers across the country.

The decision was approved during a Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Centre has also approved a total financial outlay of ₹3.15 lakh crore for the extended period, reaffirming its commitment to supporting India’s farming community.

Reacting to the announcement, Yogi Adityanath said that the prosperity, happiness, and self-reliance of farmers form the strongest foundation of a developed India. He noted that the continuation of the PM-KISAN scheme would provide financial security to millions of farming families, encourage greater investment in agriculture, and strengthen the rural economy.

The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the farmers of Uttar Pradesh, describing the Cabinet’s decision as historic and farmer-friendly. He said the initiative would further empower the agricultural sector and contribute to the long-term development of rural India.

Launched in 2019, the PM-KISAN scheme provides direct income support to eligible farmer families through periodic financial assistance. The latest extension ensures the continuation of the flagship programme for another five financial years.
