Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving the proposed Bahraich–Shravasti–Balrampur–Khalilabad railway line, describing the project as a major boost to connectivity and regional development in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

In a statement, the Chief Minister said the new railway line will improve transportation links across the districts of Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, and Sant Kabir Nagar (Khalilabad), enhancing mobility for residents and supporting economic growth in the region.
Shravasti to Get Air Connectivity: CM Yogi Adityanath
Yogi Adityanath also announced that Shravasti will be connected through air services, similar to the connectivity available for Ayodhya Dham. He said the move is expected to strengthen tourism, particularly religious and Buddhist tourism, while improving access for domestic and international visitors.
The proposed infrastructure projects are expected to improve regional connectivity, facilitate trade and travel, and create new opportunities for economic development. Better transport links are also likely to benefit local businesses, tourism, and employment across the region.
The Chief Minister credited the Central Government’s support for accelerating infrastructure development in Uttar Pradesh and said the rail and aviation projects would contribute to the state’s long-term growth and improved public connectivity.
The announcement was made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while highlighting the Centre’s approval of the railway project and plans to expand air connectivity in the state.
