Three railway stations in Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh district are set to receive new names based on their religious significance. The Pratapgarh Junction will be renamed as Belha Devi Dham, Antu station as Maa Chandrika Devi Dham, and Vishwanathganj station as Shanidev Dham Vishwanath.
Uttarpradesh railway stations Pratapgarh district will soon be renamed
The Union Home Ministry has given approval for the name changes, and the Railway Board will soon issue a formal notification to officially rename these stations. This decision came after a proposal from Pratapgarh MP Sangam Lal Gupta, highlighting the religious importance of these places.
In a similar context, in 2020, Kaushambhi MP Vinod Sonkar had proposed renaming the Kunda Harnamganj station to Kripalu Maharaj, as it is the birthplace of Jagadguru Kripalu Maharaj. This proposal has been sent to both the Railways and Home Ministries, and the process is still ongoing.
