UP Board Exam 2023 Evaluation Begins Today; Section 144 Imposed

Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Siksha Parishad (UPMSP) has started the evaluation process for the UP board exam.

To maintain security at the examination centres, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken extensive measures, including setting up CCTV cameras and imposing Section 144 within a 100-meter radius.

In 258 assessment centres throughout Uttar Pradesh, all of which are guarded by CCTV cameras, more than 1.40 lakh examiners will review 3.19 crore board exam answer sheets, officials announced on Friday, according to news agency PTI.

Total 258 centres

Divya Kant Shukla, secretary of the Secondary Education Council, reported that 258 centres had been set up for the review of high school (Class 10) and intermediate (Class 12) test answer sheets. Up until April 1, 2023, the review procedure will be under progress.

Examiners to Evaluate 1.86 crore Answer Sheets by Number 89,698

To evaluate approximately 1.86 crore high school exam answer sheets, the council has appointed 89,698 examiners. The 1.33 billion intermediate exam papers will be evaluated by an additional 54,235 examiners.

To ensure error-free review, Shukla noted, the examiners, deputy chief examiners, and their deputy controllers were trained through audio-video presentations at the respective regional offices.

The training took place on March 12 in Meerut, March 13 in Bareilly, March 14 in Gorakhpur, March 15 in Prayagraj, and March 16 in Varanasi at the council’s regional offices.

At the start of the evaluation at their respective centres, the examiners and deputy head examiners will receive training from the deputy controller or principle of the evaluation centre.

Static magistrates have been chosen by the council to oversee the proper operation of the evaluation procedure at the centres. All evaluation centres within their respective jurisdiction will be under the principal’s supervision at the District Institute of Education and Training.

According to a PTI report, evaluation centres are now subject to Section 144 of the CrPC’s security provisions within a 100-meter radius.

Until the conclusion of the evaluation period, at least four armed police guards and local police officers in plainclothes will be stationed there. CCTV surveillance will be used to watch the evaluation procedure.

As per Shukla, plans have been made for continuous monitoring of all centres from control rooms at the district and state levels. The board exams were recently held by the government of Uttar Pradesh in a rapid way. Applicants are urged to regularly check the UPMSP website for the most recent exam information.
