UP Govt sends letters to DM over organising Chaitra Navratri

The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered that all District Magistrates (DMs) will organize special pujas during Navratri in their districts. During Navratri special Goddess Puja will be organized at temples and Shaktipeeths at the expense of the government. The Yogi government will get Akhand Ramayana and Durga Saptshati recited in all the temples of the entire state on Chaitra Navratri. Devi Puja will be organized by the government at district, tehsil and block level.

Navratri is starting from March 22, in such a situation the Yogi government has ordered all the district magistrates to complete the preparations by March 21. The UP government will give a fund of one lakh rupees to each district for organizing these programmes. The picture, geo location, details of the priest will be updated on the government portal in the temples where government functions will be held.

For events in the temples, a committee will be formed under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate, who will select the artists.

Artists will give presentations of cultural programs. People’s representatives will also participate in these events. The department has allocated one lakh rupees each for the artists. Two nodal officers have also been deputed at the state level for organizing these programmes.
