UP News: The state of Uttar Pradesh has unveiled an extensive action plan aimed at revamping 277 roads scattered across 63 districts. To facilitate this initiative, the state government has sanctioned ₹319.73 crore, earmarking ₹40 lakh for each of the targeted roads. The Public Works Department (PWD) has already initiated the process for the specialized repair work, as confirmed by a state government spokesperson.

In a significant move, the government has disbursed ₹63.94 crore as the first installment after securing both administrative and financial approval. The majority of these roads have endured prolonged neglect in terms of maintenance, making this overhaul a crucial endeavor.

National Highways:

This comprehensive repair and renovation project encompasses not only the roads themselves but also includes link roads connecting rural areas to the main roads in the districts. Furthermore, it extends to the repair of national highways, link roads, border roads, and highways.

From rural area to cities:

This ambitious plan is not confined to rural areas alone; it also encompasses prominent cities such as Agra, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Saharanpur, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Jhansi, and Gorakhpur. Additionally, it covers districts like Bahraich, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Basti, Gonda, Sant Kabir Nagar, Mahoba, Pilibhit, Kushinagar, and Amroha, ensuring a widespread impact.
